MINI Cooper vs. BMW 135 Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Cooper is significantly cheaper to get to the dealership than the BMW 135. Producing an accurate fuel economy evaluation is so tricky that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the MINI Cooper is the winner in terms of gas mileage. In terms of fuel economy, the MINI bests the BMW 135. As far as MSRP, the MINI Cooper costs tremendously less than the BMW 135. The MINI Cooper will save you a bundle at the pump every year compared to the 135. The BMW will cost you a lots_of_money in gasoline every year compared to the Cooper.

Utility
Neither the Cooper nor the BMW has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity. There's no clear winner between the BMW 135 and the MINI Cooper as far as transporting cargo.

Convenience
You'll quite certainly have to take the BMW 135 for a fill-up more often than the MINI because of its tank size and fuel economy.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the MINI Cooper offers a bit more head room than the BMW 135, there frankly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the BMW 135 offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the MINI, there honestly isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The 135 is tremendously more bulky than the MINI Cooper. The MINI Cooper's tank is roughly the same size as the BMW 135's, though the 135's is a little bigger. The MINI Cooper fits in smaller parking spaces than the 135. The MINI Cooper's shorter wheelbase will likely give a sprier feel in daily traffic. On the other hand, the BMW 135 is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, the BMW packs quite a punch and will knock the Cooper down a few rungs. On the flip side, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Drivetrain
The MINI Cooper's engine is tremendously smaller than the BMW 135's. Keep in mind that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the flip side, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque equals pickup, and the BMW 135 will have picked up and gone by the time the MINI Cooper finally gets moving.

Warranty
The BMW 135 and the Cooper have the same basic warranty.
