When it comes to powerful full-size sedans with cutting-edge technology and spacious interiors, the 2009 Mercury Sable is a force to be reckoned with.

Sharing the limelight with the resurrected Ford Taurus, the Sable continues as the sister vehicle to the legendary sedan, sharing the same vehicle platform, engine, and specifications. Offered in two trim levels, base and Premier, the Sable boasts a powerful 3.5-liter, 263-horsepower Duratec DOHC V-6 and is mated to a six-speed transmission features standard front-wheel drive and optional intelligent all-wheel drive.  The Sable receives 17-18 mpg in the city and 24-28 mpg on the highway and competes with the Taurus, Chevrolet Impala, Toyota Avalon, Chrysler 300 and Buick Lucerne.

The Sable also boasts best-in-class passenger room, providing more interior space plus more rear passenger leg and head room than any other vehicle in its class. Seating five, the Sable has 108 cubic feet of passenger volume and the largest trunk in its class, incorporating a 60/40 split folding rear seat to maximize space 21.2 cubic feet of luggage space.  The Sable features an optional voice-activated navigation system and the SYNC® communications and entertainment system, which integrates Bluetooth® connectivity with mobile phones and allows you to control your MP3 library by voice.  Comfort and sophistication have not been overlooked in the Sable, Sirius® Satellite Radio, leather-trimmed seats, one-touch power moonroof, power heated mirrors with memory function, a selection of stylish 18-inch wheels, and an Audiophile® Sound System with six-disc in-dash CD changer and MP3 capability.

Focusing on safety and security, the Sable comes with six standard airbags and the Safety Canopy System with rollover sensor and side curtain airbags. AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control provides drivers with a confident ride and smooth handling in all weather conditions while the standard 4-wheel disc ABS system stops the vehicle in quick-braking maneuvers. With a long list of passive safety features, it has a full 5-star crash test rating from the NHTSA making the Sable one of the safest full-size sedans around.
