Mercury Mountaineer vs. Kia Borrego Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Kia Borrego to the dealership as the Mountaineer. The Mercury Mountaineer won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Kia Borrego. With respect to MSRP, the Kia Borrego doesn't cost much less than the Mercury.

Utility
The Kia Borrego and the Mercury Mountaineer can accommodate the same number of passengers. There's little the Kia Borrego can tow that the Mercury cannot.

Convenience
You'll definitely take the Kia Borrego for a fill-up roughly as often as the Mercury Mountaineer.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Borrego offers a bit more head room than the Mercury Mountaineer, there really isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Kia offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Mercury, there really isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The Kia's tank is almost the same size as the Mercury Mountaineer's, though the Mercury's is a tad larger. The Kia Borrego and the Mercury Mountaineer compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
With their similar turning radiuses, the Kia Borrego and the Mercury Mountaineer most certainly handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Mercury Mountaineer's engine isn't much larger than the Kia Borrego's. The Mercury Mountaineer has no lessons to learn as far as torque from the Kia Borrego.

Overview
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Mercury isn't quite as generous as the Borrego's.
