Price, Photos, Reviews & Features
2010 Mercury Mountaineer Overview
Comparable to the Ford Explorer, the 2010 Mercury Mountaineer mid-size SUV blends comfort and capability with a touch of luxury without losing sight of its rugged, trailblazing mountain man appeal.

Powered by either a 210-horsepower, 4.0-liter V-6 mated to a five-speed automatic overdrive transmission or a 292-horsepower, 4.6-liter V-8 mated to a six-speed automatic with overdrive, the Mountaineer is available in 2WD, AWD and Premier series. The 2010 Mercury Mountaineer competes with Buick Enclave and Kia Borrego and averages 13-15 mpg in the city and 19-21 on the highway.

Premier models sit on 18-inch wheels and feature a power moonroof and premium audio system with in-dash 6-CD changer as standard equipment. Also standard are heated leather-trimmed front seats and a 10-way power driver and six-way power passenger adjustment with memory to comfortably accommodate everyone.

Big enough for the whole family, the Mountaineer seats up to seven passengers with an optional power-folding third-row seat. The 2010 Mercury Mountaineer lives up to its rugged reputation and can tow up to 7,055 lbs. when properly equipped.

A next-generation navigation system with SIRIUS Travel Link allows you to access to information including current gas prices from approximately 120,000 filling stations, traffic reports, weather conditions, sports scores and movie listings. Optional heated seats, SYNC Communications and rear-seat DVD system with eight-inch screen are available to keep the kids entertained while on long trips.

As for safety, standard trailer sway control works in conjunction with AdvanceTrac and roll stability control (RSC) to apply the brakes or reduced engine torque in order to bring both the vehicle and trailer under control. Ford’s AdvanceTrac with RSC system utilizes a roll rate sensor to detect roll angle and will apply the brakes to one or more wheels or reduce engine power to counter a potential rollover.

The 2010 Mercury Mountaineer is stacked with premium safety and entertainment features, rugged power, extreme towing capabilities and can comfortably seat up to seven passengers allowing you and your family to hit the open trails with peace of mind.
