2009 Mercury Milan Overview
With out of this world technology and above average fuel economy, the 2009 Mercury Milan is a dark horse in the midsize sedan segment. Available in two trim levels – the base Milan, upscale Premier VOGA series – the Milan features a choice of economical, powerful engines. The standard 2.3-liter, 160-horsepower inline 4-cylinder supplies adequate acceleration with a crisp five-speed manual transmission or optional smooth-shifting five-speed automatic. The optional 3.0-liter, 221-horsepower V-6 is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, which motivates the car with authority. The Milan gets 17-20 MPG in the city and 25-29 MPG on the highway and competes with the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Buick LaCrosse. New advanced technology features include the SYNC™ Communications and Entertainment System. Use voice commands to access your music collection by genre, album, artist or song title and operate your Bluetooth®. The optional voice-activated DVD-based navigation system has a 6.5-inch color LCD monitor, turn-by-turn directions, and comprehensive maps and menus. The MP3 audio input jack lets you channel your music via your iPod® through the car’s speakers. The new, available Moon & Tune package combines a power moonroof with a high-fidelity Audiophile® sound system with in-dash, 6-disc CD changer, MP3 capability, and eight speakers for authentic sound reproduction. Set the mood with available ambient lighting. Ambient lighting LEDs that illuminate the front and rear footwells, front center console bin and two front cup holders. All models have standard front-wheel drive, while V-6 models offer optional all-wheel drive for superior traction and handling in adverse weather and road conditions. The standard double-wishbone front suspension keeps body roll to a minimum and supplies tight, controlled handling. Standard 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes prevent wheel lockup and shorten stopping distances. The optional Traction Control system helps minimize wheel spin during takeoffs in slippery conditions. AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control automatically applies the brakes and modulates engine torque to help maintain control whenever it detects wheel slip, understeer or oversteer. Six standard airbags protect passengers in the event of a collision, including dual front, seat-mounted side impact, and side curtain airbags in both rows. The new Reverse Sensing System uses ultrasonic waves to help you parallel park in tight spaces. With abundant safety features, cutting-edge technology features and generous fuel economy, the 2009 Mercury Milan is a midsize sedan force to be reckoned with.
