2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class Overview
Sleek and sporty, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class looks like a coupe, but it’s a four-door luxury sedan with an available high-performance engine to boot. The 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class consists of the CLS550 and high-performance CLS63 AMG trim levels. Two completely different engines power the 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, including a 382-horsepower, 5.5-liter V-8 (CLS550) and a powerful 507-horsepower, 6.3-liter V-8 (CLS63 AMG), each mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with auto-manual mode. EPA estimated fuel economy ratings vary depending on engine and range between 12-14 mpg in the city and 18-21 mpg on the highway. Competing with luxury sedan counterparts, including Audi A8, BMW 650 and Jaguar XK, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class rests atop standard 18-inch wheels. Several interior and exterior revisions were made in 2009, including the addition of heated mirrors with integrated turn signals and a revamped COMAND interface. An optional automatic cornering light function with bi-xenon headlights switches on cornering lights during a turn and pivots to follow the driver's steering. An optional Performance Package available in the CLS63 AMG includes a shorter suspension with stiffer brakes, 19-inch alloy wheels, a limited-slip rear differential, sport steering wheel and top speed of 186 mph. An optional Premium Package offers adaptive headlights and washers, electronic trunk closure, MP3 capability and keyless ignition. Also available are Parktronic sensors and Distronic Cruise Control. Inside, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is adorned in leather and seats up to four. Standard luxury and comfort amenities include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, sunroof, six-disc CD/DVD player, four-zone climate control and power front seats. Options include heated/cooled seats and massaging front seats for the ultimate luxury riding experience. The 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is loaded with standard active safety technologies, including the Pre-Safe system, which automatically tightens seat belts, moves seats into a safer position and closes the sunroof when the vehicle’s radar sensing an impending collision. Additional features include front- and rear side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags, antilock brakes and an electronic stability system. If you want style, luxury and performance with plenty of interior gadgetry and premium safety technologies, look no further than the 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class luxury sedan.
