2009 Mazda B4000 Overview
The 2009 Mazda B4000 is a very solid compact pickup truck that can handle rough work duties or everyday city commuting with ease.
The B4000 is available exclusively as a 4x4 Cab Plus 4-door model, in base or SE trim levels. The sole engine choice is a powerful 4.0-liter, 207-horsepower V-6 engine with 238 lb.-ft. of torque, which supplies excellent thrust and good towing capacity. There are two durable transmissions available – a standard five-speed manual and a five-speed electronic automatic with overdrive, offering smooth shifting and easy highway cruising. The standard four-wheel drive system with dual-range transfer case offers excellent off-road capabilities and superior traction on a variety of road surfaces. The standard Limited-Slip Differential allows for more equal distribution of power, providing increased grip to the wheels. Standard skid plates for the fuel tank and transfer case offer additional protection during off-road adventures. A maximum towing capacity of 5,600 pounds offers flexible towing options and can accommodate many tasks. The B4000 receives decent fuel economy with 14-15 mpg in the city and 18-19 mpg on the highway.
Optional air conditioning provides relief in extreme temperatures. Available cruise control makes highway commuting a breeze, while the optional AM/FM/CD audio system with four speakers and audio input jack offer excellent sound quality. Standard front bucket seats with a center console offer excellent comfort and additional storage flexibility.
Standard on all B4000 models are front passenger dual-stage airbags for enhanced passenger protection in a collision. The standard four-wheel anti-lock braking system provides superior stopping ability and helps to prevent wheel lockup during hard braking. What’s more, the standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alerts the driver to any significant drops in tire pressure.
