The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Mazda to the dealership as the Volkswagen. When it comes to MSRP, the Volkswagen Passat costs about as much as the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 (though the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 is a little cheaper). With respect to purchase cost, the Mazda doesn't cost much less than the Volkswagen Passat.

Utility
The MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 and the Passat can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 offers a bit more head room than the Volkswagen Passat, there really isn't much of a difference. The Volkswagen Passat is not particularly more spacious for your passengers than the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3.
