The tC and the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 packs quite a wallop and will knock the Scion tC down a few rungs. However, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Mazda MAZDASPEED3 is tremendously heavier than the Scion tC. The Scion's tank is about the same size as the Mazda MAZDASPEED3's, though the Mazda MAZDASPEED3's is slightly bigger. The Scion tC and the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You'll quite certainly take the Scion for a fill-up almost as often as the Mazda.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Scion tC to the dealership as the Mazda MAZDASPEED3. The Mazda MAZDASPEED3 won't tax your gasoline budget substantially more than the Scion tC will. There frankly isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Scion tC is somewhat more economical than the Mazda MAZDASPEED3. With respect to MSRP, the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 costs significantly more than the Scion tC.

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 and the tC likely handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Scion tC's engine isn't much more massive than the Mazda MAZDASPEED3's. The Scion tC could learn a lesson or two from the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 with respect to torque. Torque equals pickup, and the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 will have picked up and gone by the time the tC finally gets moving.

Comfort
Taller drivers will considerably enjoy the extra head room in the Mazda MAZDASPEED3's front cabin compared to the tC. The ampler interior dimensions of the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 make it substantially roomier for your passengers than the Scion.

Warranty
The Mazda MAZDASPEED3 and the tC have the same basic after-sale protection.
