Neither the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 nor the Mazda MAZDA6 has a marked advantage when it comes to seating capacity.

Dimensions
The Mazda MAZDA6 is a tad heavier than the MAZDASPEED MAZDA3. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the MAZDA6 than the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 because of its bigger tank. The MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 and the Mazda MAZDA6 compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You'll doubtless have to take the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 for a fill-up more often than the Mazda MAZDA6 because of its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
The MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Mazda MAZDA6. There really isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 is somewhat more economical than the Mazda MAZDA6. The MAZDA6 has a bigger engine than the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3. Note that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but smaller engines can be stressed more. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 is markedly more powerful than the Mazda MAZDA6.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3 offers a bit more head room than the Mazda MAZDA6, there frankly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Mazda MAZDA6 provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3, there frankly isn't much of a difference.
