New 2010 Mazda MAZDASPEED3

Reminiscent of the MAZDA3, the redesigned 2010 MAZDASPEED3 is a sporty yet stylish hatchback that takes the term speed to a whole new level. Still powered by a 263-horsepower, 2.3-liter turbo engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive, the new MAZDASPEED3 has one of the strongest engines in its class and is one of the most powerful front-wheel-drive performance cars under $25,000. EPA-estimated fuel ratings are a mediocre 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.  Compared to the competition— Volkswagen GTI, Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Mini Cooper S JCW—the 2010 MAZDASPEED3 hatchback features one of the most powerful engines in its class. It boasts a stylish new design for the 2010 model year and a new engine scoop to further enhance engine performance.

The 2010 MAZDASPEED3 sits on 18-inch wheels and features a distinctive and slightly menacing front grille. But the improvements start with a hood that now features an intercooler scoop to improve charge air cooling, provide consistent engine output and enhance fuel efficiency. Large dual exhaust tips and a roof-mounted rear spoiler decorate the rear.

As for safety, the 2010 MAZDASPEED3’s structure has been stiffened through the use of high-strength steel, which allows for a firmer suspension without compromising ride comfort. Brake assist, which shortens stopping distance by immediately applying full brake pressure upon the moment of hesitation, has been upgraded from mechanical to a new electronically controlled system. Steering response has also been improved through a more rigidly mounted steering rack.

Standard features include illuminated vanity mirrors, LED gauges, aluminum pedals and dual-zone climate control. An available MAZDASPEED3 Tech Package offers advanced keyless entry, push-button start, a compact full-color navigation system, Sirius Satellite Radio, 6-CD changer, and a BOSE Centerpoint surround sound stereo system.
