Handling
The Volkswagen GTI and the MAZDA6 have roughly comparable tires. With their similar turning radii, the Volkswagen GTI and the Mazda MAZDA6 indubitably handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Mazda MAZDA6's engine is substantially more massive than the Volkswagen's. Keep in mind that larger engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Volkswagen GTI isn't much more powerful than the Mazda MAZDA6.

Utility
Neither the Mazda nor the Volkswagen GTI has a marked advantage in terms of seating capacity.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Volkswagen GTI offers a bit more head room than the Mazda MAZDA6, there really isn't much of a difference. The Volkswagen GTI is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Mazda.
