Mazda MAZDA6 vs. Kia Spectra Review

Neither the Kia Spectra nor the Mazda MAZDA6 has a marked advantage in terms of seating capacity.

Dimensions
The MAZDA6 is tremendously heavier than the Kia Spectra. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Mazda MAZDA6 than the Spectra because of its larger tank. The Spectra and the Mazda MAZDA6 compete for the same parking spaces. The Spectra's shorter wheelbase will likely give a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic. On the flip side, the Mazda is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Spectra to the dealership as the Mazda MAZDA6. With respect to MSRP, the Kia Spectra costs tremendously less than the Mazda.

Handling
With their comparable turning radii, the Kia Spectra and the Mazda MAZDA6 likely handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Kia Spectra's engine is significantly smaller than the Mazda MAZDA6's. Note that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the other hand, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque equals pickup, and the MAZDA6 will have picked up and gone by the time the Kia Spectra finally gets moving.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Kia Spectra offers a bit more head room than the MAZDA6, there frankly isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Mazda offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Kia Spectra, there really isn't much of a difference.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the Mazda MAZDA6 isn't quite as generous as the Kia Spectra's.
