Mazda MAZDA3 vs. Mitsubishi Galant Review

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Mazda MAZDA3 is definitely more maneuverable than the Mitsubishi Galant, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Mitsubishi has a bigger engine than the Mazda MAZDA3. Remember that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. Torque equals pickup, and the Mitsubishi Galant will have picked up and gone by the time the Mazda MAZDA3 finally gets moving. The Mazda could learn a lesson or two from the Mitsubishi Galant regarding pickup.

Utility
The Galant and the Mazda can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
You won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Mazda MAZDA3 than with the Mitsubishi Galant, as both offer similar mileage ranges.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Mitsubishi Galant offers a bit more head room than the Mazda MAZDA3, there really isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Mitsubishi Galant offers a bit more head- and leg-room than the Mazda MAZDA3, there really isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The Mitsubishi is tremendously more bulky than the Mazda MAZDA3. The Mazda MAZDA3's tank is approximately the same size as the Mitsubishi Galant's, though the Mitsubishi Galant's is a bit bigger. The Mazda MAZDA3 and the Galant compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Mitsubishi Galant to the dealership as the Mazda MAZDA3. The Mitsubishi Galant won't save you much money at the pump compared to the MAZDA3. The Mitsubishi Galant is substantially more expensive than the Mazda as far as MSRP.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the Mazda MAZDA3 isn't quite as generous as the Mitsubishi Galant's.
