Mazda MAZDA3 vs. Mercury Milan Review

Neither the Mercury nor the Mazda has a marked advantage with respect to seating capacity.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, the Mercury Milan packs quite a wallop and will knock the MAZDA3 down a few rungs. On the flip side, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Mercury is tremendously heavier than the Mazda MAZDA3. The Mazda MAZDA3's tank is almost the same size as the Milan's, though the Mercury's is a tad bigger. The MAZDA3 and the Mercury compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
The Mazda MAZDA3's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Mercury Milan.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Mercury Milan to the dealership as the Mazda MAZDA3. Producing an accurate fuel economy evaluation is so hard that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Mercury Milan and the Mercury Milan perform about similarly in terms of fuel economy. There honestly isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Mercury Milan is somewhat more economical than the Mazda MAZDA3. The MAZDA3 is considerably less costly than the Mercury in terms of MSRP.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the MAZDA3 is definitely sprier than the Mercury Milan, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Milan's engine is substantially bigger than the Mazda MAZDA3's. Bear in mind that more sizeable engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Mercury Milan will have picked up and gone by the time the MAZDA3 finally gets moving. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Mercury is significantly more powerful than the Mazda MAZDA3.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Mazda MAZDA3 offers a bit more head room than the Mercury Milan, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Mercury Milan is not particularly more spacious for your passengers than the Mazda MAZDA3.

Warranty
The Mazda MAZDA3 and the Mercury have the same basic after-sale protection.
