Mazda CX-9 vs. Volvo XC60 Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Mazda CX-9 to the dealership as the Volvo XC60. In terms of gas mileage, the Volvo XC60 is a tad better than the CX-9, but not by much. The XC60 won't save you much money at the pump compared to the CX-9. The Volvo XC60 isn't much pricier than the CX-9 with respect to MSRP.

Utility
The Mazda CX-9 will definitely prove friendlier than the XC60 for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The Volvo XC60 outpulls the Mazda CX-9 by a large margin.

Convenience
You'll quite certainly take the Volvo for a fill-up about as often as the Mazda CX-9.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Mazda CX-9 offers a bit more head room than the Volvo XC60, there really isn't much of a difference. The ampler interior dimensions of the Mazda CX-9 make it considerably roomier for your passengers than the Volvo.

Dimensions
The Volvo XC60's tank is approximately the same size as the CX-9's, though the CX-9's is slightly larger. The Volvo XC60 and the Mazda CX-9 compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Mazda CX-9 and the Volvo XC60 quite certainly handle almost the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The XC60's engine is considerably smaller than the Mazda CX-9's. Bear in mind that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; however, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. The Mazda CX-9 has no lessons to learn regarding torque from the XC60.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the Mazda CX-9 isn't quite as generous as the Volvo XC60's.
