Mazda CX-9 vs. Toyota 4Runner Review

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Mazda CX-9 over the 4Runner. Towing is significantly more the Toyota 4Runner's forte than it is the CX-9's.

Dimensions
Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Toyota 4Runner than the Mazda because of its bigger tank. The Toyota 4Runner and the Mazda CX-9 compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You will quite certainly have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the CX-9 than with the Toyota 4Runner.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Mazda CX-9 is significantly cheaper to get to the dealership than the 4Runner. The Toyota 4Runner won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Mazda CX-9. Producing an accurate gas mileage evaluation is so tricky that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Mazda CX-9 and the Mazda CX-9 perform approximately similarly in terms of gas mileage. As far as MSRP, the 4Runner costs approximately as much as the Mazda CX-9 (though the Mazda CX-9 is a tad cheaper).

Drivetrain
The Mazda CX-9 and the Toyota 4Runner have similar-sized engines, with a slight advantage to the Toyota 4Runner. The 4Runner has no lessons to learn as far as pickup from the CX-9.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Toyota 4Runner offers a bit more head room than the Mazda CX-9, there really isn't much of a difference. The Mazda CX-9 provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the 4Runner does.
