The Mazda will quite certainly prove friendlier than the Murano for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The Nissan Murano outpulls the CX-9 by a sizeable margin.

The Mazda CX-9 is considerably more bulky than the Nissan Murano. The Mazda CX-9's tank is almost the same size as the Nissan Murano's, though the Nissan's is a bit larger. The Nissan Murano and the Mazda compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
The CX-9's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Nissan Murano.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Mazda CX-9 to the dealership as the Nissan. Regarding fuel economy, the Nissan Murano bests the Mazda CX-9. Producing a precise fuel economy evaluation is so tricky that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Nissan Murano and the Nissan Murano perform roughly comparably as far as fuel economy. The Nissan Murano isn't much less costly than the CX-9 when it comes to MSRP.
