The Mazda CX-9's tank is approximately the same size as the Veracruz's, though the Hyundai Veracruz's is a tad larger. The Hyundai Veracruz and the Mazda CX-9 compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
You likely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Mazda CX-9 than with the Veracruz, because both offer comparable mileage ranges.

Cost
The Mazda CX-9 doesn't pale in comparison to the Hyundai Veracruz as far as gas mileage. As far as gas mileage, the Hyundai Veracruz is slightly better than the Mazda CX-9, but not by much. In terms of MSRP, the Mazda doesn't cost much less than the Hyundai Veracruz.

The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Mazda CX-9 isn't quite as generous as the Hyundai Veracruz's.
