Mazda CX-9 vs. GMC Acadia Review

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the GMC Acadia over the Mazda. There's no clear winner between the CX-9 and the GMC Acadia with respect to hauling capacity. The GMC Acadia outpulls the Mazda CX-9 by a large margin.

Dimensions
The Acadia is a little more ponderous than the Mazda CX-9. The Mazda CX-9's tank is roughly the same size as the GMC Acadia's, though the GMC's is a bit more capacious. The Mazda CX-9 and the GMC compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
The Mazda CX-9's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the GMC Acadia.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The CX-9 is substantially cheaper to get to the dealership than the GMC Acadia. Regarding gas mileage, the GMC and the Mazda don't differ much. Producing an exact gas mileage evaluation is so hard that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the GMC Acadia and the GMC Acadia perform roughly similarly when it comes to fuel economy. The Mazda isn't much less costly than the Acadia with respect to MSRP.

Handling
The GMC Acadia and the CX-9 have approximately similar tires. With their similar turning radii, the CX-9 and the Acadia very likely handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Mazda CX-9's engine is somewhat smaller than the GMC Acadia's, but not terribly so. The Mazda has no lessons to learn with respect to torque from the GMC Acadia. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the GMC Acadia isn't much more powerful than the Mazda CX-9.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the GMC Acadia offers a bit more head room than the Mazda CX-9, there really isn't much of a difference. The Mazda provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the GMC Acadia does.

Overview
The Mazda CX-9 and the Acadia have the same basic after-sale protection.
