Mazda B2300 vs. Honda Ridgeline Review

It costs approximately the same to get the Honda Ridgeline to the dealership as the B2300. As far as gas mileage, the Mazda B2300 has the Honda Ridgeline beat. With respect to MSRP, the Honda costs tremendously more than the B2300. The Mazda B2300 will save you a lots_of_money at the pump every year compared to the Honda. The Honda Ridgeline will cost you a lots_of_money in gas every year compared to the B2300.

Utility
Drivers with frequent child-duty might favor the Honda Ridgeline over the Mazda B2300. The Honda Ridgeline is a better choice than the B2300 with respect to transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of suitcases or massive animals. Towing is significantly more the Honda Ridgeline's forte than it is the Mazda B2300's.

Convenience
You most definitely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Honda Ridgeline than with the B2300, because both offer similar ranges.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Honda Ridgeline's front cabin compared to the Mazda.

Dimensions
The Ridgeline is tremendously heavier than the Mazda B2300. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Ridgeline than the Mazda B2300 because of its bigger tank. The Mazda B2300 and the Honda Ridgeline compete for the same parking spaces. The Mazda B2300's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more agile feel in daily traffic than the Honda Ridgeline.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Ridgeline packs quite a punch and will knock the Mazda B2300 down a few rungs. However, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Mazda is most certainly sprier than the Honda Ridgeline, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Honda Ridgeline has a more massive engine than the Mazda. Note that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. Torque equals pickup, and the Honda will have picked up and gone by the time the Mazda B2300 finally gets moving. The Mazda could learn a lesson or two from the Honda Ridgeline when it comes to pickup.

The Honda and the B2300 have the same basic after-sale protection.
