Mazda B2300 vs. Ford F-150 Review

Utility
The Ford will most definitely prove more practical than the Mazda B2300 for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The Ford F-150 is a better choice than the Mazda when it comes to hauling capacity, especially if you often need to carry a lot of luggage or large dogs. The Ford F-150 outpulls the Mazda B2300 by a sizeable margin.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Ford F-150 packs quite a wallop and will knock the Mazda B2300 down a few rungs. On the flip side, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Ford F-150 is tremendously more bulky than the Mazda B2300. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the F-150 than the Mazda B2300 because of its larger tank. The Mazda B2300 fits in smaller parking spaces than the Ford F-150. The Mazda's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic than the F-150.

Convenience
You'll definitely have to take the Mazda B2300 for a fill-up more often than the Ford because of its tank size and gas mileage.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Mazda B2300 is substantially cheaper to get to the dealership than the F-150. Producing a precise fuel economy evaluation is so hard that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Mazda B2300 is the winner when it comes to gas mileage. The F-150 will tax your gas budget considerably more than the B2300 will. With respect to MSRP, the Mazda B2300 costs tremendously less than the Ford. The Ford will cost you a lots_of_money in gas every year compared to the Mazda B2300.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Mazda is most certainly more maneuverable than the Ford F-150, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Ford F-150 has a larger engine than the Mazda B2300. Remember that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but smaller engines can be stressed more. The Ford F-150 packs quite a punch compared to the B2300 in terms of torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Ford F-150's front cabin compared to the Mazda B2300.

Warranty
The Ford F-150 and the Mazda B2300 have the same basic warranty.
