Lincoln Town Car vs. Acura RL Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The RL is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the Town Car. There frankly isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Lincoln Town Car is a bit more economical than the RL. As far as MSRP, the Acura RL doesn't cost much less than the Town Car.

Utility
The Lincoln Town Car will most certainly prove handier than the Acura RL for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The Town Car outpulls the Acura RL by a large margin.

Convenience
You'll definitely take the Acura RL for a fill-up approximately as often as the Town Car.

Comfort
Taller drivers will considerably enjoy the extra head room in the Lincoln Town Car's front cabin compared to the RL. The ampler interior dimensions of the Town Car make it significantly roomier for your passengers than the RL.

Dimensions
The Lincoln Town Car's tank is almost the same size as the Acura's, though the Acura's is somewhat larger. The Acura RL and the Lincoln Town Car compete for the same parking spaces. The Acura RL's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a nimbler feel in daily traffic than the Lincoln Town Car.

Performance
As far as horsepower, the Acura RL packs quite a wallop and will knock the Lincoln Town Car down a few rungs. However, remember that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Acura RL is definitely more maneuverable than the Lincoln Town Car, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Lincoln has a more sizeable engine than the RL. Bear in mind that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. The Acura RL has no lessons to learn regarding torque from the Lincoln Town Car.

Warranty
The Lincoln Town Car and the Acura RL have the same basic after-sale protection.
