2010 Lincoln MKZ Overview
With a refreshed front and rear fascia and revised drivetrain, the 2010 Lincoln MKZ blends a sleek style with improved function and luxurious refinements.
Related to the redesigned Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, the Lincoln MKZ is a fresh candidate in the midsize, entry-level luxury sedan segment. The MKZ blends its visor-like headlights with the larger, sleeker nose of the MKS, while the rear fascia involves stretched tail lamps that almost connect in the middle of the trunk. Meanwhile, the same 3.5-liter, 263-horsepower V-6 is mated to a revised six-speed automatic transmission that increases acceleration to the tune of 0 to 60 in 7.1 seconds. The MKZ comes with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is optional. The Sport Appearance Package offers better handling via a sport-tuned suspension, stiffer springs and sturdier stabilizer bars. The MKZ receives 17-18 mpg in the city and 24-27 mpg on the highway and competes with the Cadillac CTS and Lexus ES 350.
When it comes to the interior, the 2010 MKZ brings a modern and contemporary approach to the dashboard and gauges that resemble the MKS. What used to be boxy is now smooth, featuring wood trim, Bridge of Weir leather, smaller dials and buttons. The available SYNC™ Communications and Entertainment System uses voice commands to access your music collection by genre, album, artist or song title and operate your Bluetooth®. The available THX II audio system with 5.1 Surround Sound features 14 speakers and 600 watts is pure listening pleasure. An optional voice-activated Navigation System with SIRIUS Travel Link provides a 3-D view of locations, traffic rerouting and a 10GB jukebox that stores up to 2,300 songs via an 8-inch touch screen. The MKZ boasts 16.5 cubic feet of cargo volume, 10-way power seats with memory, power moonroof and 18-inch polished aluminum wheels.
Your safety is important to the folks at Lincoln so they’ve implemented the latest and greatest in safety technology. Front seat side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags for both rows, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, AdvanceTrac® ESC (electronic stability control) with brake actuated traction control are standard. The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) tracks vehicles in those hard-to-see areas, while Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) notifies the driver of cross traffic when backing out of a parking spot.
Not only does the newly redesigned 2010 Lincoln MKZ look great, but it encompasses cutting-edge technology and safety features making it a midsize luxury sedan to be reckoned with.
