2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Exterior

2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Overview (See Available Styles)

  • Redesigned last year
  • Same starting MSRP as the gas-only MKZ
  • Gigantic optional panoramic roof
With a luxurious interior and plenty of exterior style, the 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is the more fuel efficient sibling of the MKZ sedan.

Most hybrid models come with a large premium attached to them, costing thousands more than their gasoline only counterparts. However the MKZ Hybrid starts at the same MSRP as the MKZ, but still returns you an almost 40-percent improvement in fuel economy, so you start to reap the savings of improved fuel efficiency right away.

The two cars look very similar from the outside; last year’s redesign changed the MKZ Hybrid’s styling dramatically and for the better. The front is dominated by a large version of Lincoln’s winged front grille that gives the MKZ Hybrid a distinctive look on the road. 18-inch wheels are standard, along with LED headlights and taillights. Options include larger 19-inch wheels and a huge panoramic sunroof that basically replaces the roof with a large pane of glass that can be opened to let plenty of air and light into the cabin.

The MKZ Hybrid utilizes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that combine to produce 188-hp. The electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, which has enough juice to allow the MKZ Hybrid to travel at speeds of up to 85-mph on electric power only. Fuel economy ratings are estimated at 38/37 mpg city/highway.

Inside, the 2014 MKZ Hybrid offers an interior with plenty of luxury features. Leather upholstery and heated front seats are standard, as is an eight-inch touchscreen in the center console and MyLincoln Touch, which replaces many of the physical controls on the dashboard with touch sensitive panels instead. Ventilated front seats, navigation, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel are optional.

Standard safety features include eight airbags, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system, and a rear view camera. The MKZ Hybrid is also available with a long list of safety technology, including forward collision sensors, blind sport warning, rear cross-traffic alerts, and inflatable rear seat belts which keep rear occupants safer in a collision.
