2014 Lincoln MKZ Overview
Redesigned last year, the Lincoln MKZ shares its platform with the Ford Fusion midsize sedan but has different styling and unique features, including an automatic transmission operated by five dashboard buttons instead of a shift lever. It is available with front- or all-wheel drive and with a turbocharged four-cylinder or V-6 engine. A hybrid version is also offered. Competitors include the Acura TL and Lexus ES.
The MKZ sits on stock 18-inch alloy wheels; 19-inch wheels available, and features standard LED headlamps and taillights. An optional retracting panoramic roof and rain-sensing windshield wipers available for upgrade.
A Sync and MyLincoln Touch with 8-inch screen sits in the center console with an available navigation system. The interior is fitted in leather upholstery with heated front seats. Optional ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and steering wheel available as well as adaptive cruise control.
Under the Hood
The MKZ is powered by a 240-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, with an additional engine upgrade to a 300-hp, 3.7-liter V-6. The engines use regular gas and features six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Vehicles come standard in front-wheel drive; with all-wheel drive available.
Standard eight standard airbags, antilock brakes, and electronic stability system provide protection for the passengers and the vehicle. Additional safety options include blind spot warning system, lane departure warning, inflatable rear seat belts, backup camera, and rear parking sensors.
