When it comes to horsepower, the Lexus GS 450h packs quite a punch and will knock the BMW down a few rungs. On the other hand, bear in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Lexus is substantially heavier than the BMW 528. The Lexus GS 450h's tank is approximately the same size as the BMW 528's, though the BMW 528's is a tad larger. The Lexus and the BMW compete for the same parking spaces.

Convenience
The BMW 528's fuel tank will need to be replenished a bit more often than the unit in the GS 450h.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the BMW 528 to the dealership as the Lexus GS 450h. Regarding gas mileage, the Lexus GS 450h has the BMW 528 beat. As far as fuel economy, the Lexus GS 450h beats the BMW 528. Regarding MSRP, the 528 costs significantly less than the Lexus.

The Lexus GS 450h has a bigger engine than the 528. Remember that smaller engines typically get better gas mileage, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the BMW 528's front cabin compared to the Lexus. While the rear of the BMW provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the Lexus, there frankly isn't much of a difference.
