2011 Lexus ES 350 Overview
Ample power, copious cutting-edge safety features and sophisticated interior refinement highlight the 2011 Lexus ES 350.
Driving the 2011 Lexus ES 350 is a revised 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 that now runs on 87-octane regular gasoline instead of premium. The result is a slight dip in horsepower (from 272 to 268), but lots of savings at the pump. The engine features dual variable valve timing technology and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. The ES 350 achieves a decent 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, which is better than most configurations of the competing Acura TL and Lincoln MKZ.
After going through some styling tweaks last year, the 2011 Lexus ES 350 gets a new color, Deep Sea Mica, which replaces Black Sapphire Pearl. Other exterior features include standard 17-inch wheels, dual exhaust, rain-sensing wipers and a moonroof. A panoramic glass roof and 10-spoke wheels with “liquid graphite” finish are optional.
Lexus is known for crafting some of the plushest, most comfortable interiors around and climbing into the ES 350 you will see why. Leather seating is standard as is semi-aniline leather with double-contrast stitching on the seats, doors and dashboard (new for 2011). Push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and 10-way power-adjustable front seats add convenience and comfort. The audio system includes a six-CD changer, Bluetooth and USB media device connectivity. Standalone options include heated and ventilated front seats, a 14 speaker, 300-watt Mark Levinson audio system and a touch-screen navigation system with conversational voice commands.
Lexus’s Vehicle Stability Control system, which incorporates traction and stability control functions, works in concert with antilock brakes and electronic brake-force distribution to make the 2011 Lexus ES 350 stop and turn as effectively and efficiently as possible. The Pre-Collision System includes an active cruise control system that automatically maintains a preset distance to the car in front. When an unavoidable impact is sensed, the PCS retracts the seatbelts and readies the brake assist system. Even if the driver fails to react, the PCS can apply the brakes. The Adaptive Front Lighting system points the headlamps where the driver needs them while turning; and the Lexus Enform™ system with Safety Connect™ includes stolen vehicle location and crash notification functions, so you get help when you need it most.
Ride in style, luxury, and safety with the endlessly sophisticated 2011 Lexus ES 350.
