The 2016 Lexus 300h is a mid-size, luxury hybrid sedan with a 40 mpg combined rating. For 2016, it has had several exterior, interior, and safety feature revisions.

The ES 300h has been given a bolder, aerodynamic front-end that features Lexus’ signature “spindle” mesh grille, jagged-tooth automatic LED headlights, and chrome accents. Even with these more sporty features, it retains an overall classy, elegant appearance. Standard features include LED daytime running lamps, automatic dimming side mirrors, fog lights, power/heated side mirrors, a power moonroof, a rear lip spoiler, and 17-inch wheels. Xenon HID headlights, a panoramic moonroof, a power truck lid, and larger 20-inch wheels are also available.

Powering the ES 300h is a 156-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency for the ES 300h is an EPA-estimated 40/39 mpg city/highway.

Inside, the 5-passenger ES 300h has an upscale synthetic leather and wood trim interior. The center console features a multimedia system with a 4.2-inch color display, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, satellite radio, a USB port, and Siri Eyes Free Mode (via iPhone). Connected services for navigation, traffic updates, emergency notification, vehicle maintenance, and remote smartphone controls are also available. Other optional features include premium leather upholstery, heated/ventilated seats, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, memory seats, and a Mark Levinson premium audio system. Air conditioning, cruise control, power windows/locks, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, remote keyless entry, push-button start, and a garage door opener come standard.

The ES 300h earned a full 5-star overall crash test safety rating from the NHTSA. For 2016, the ES 300h received additional structural reinforcements to improve body stiffness and handling. Standard features include an advanced airbag system, antilock brakes, an electronics stability system, and brake assist. Lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and autonomous braking are available as well.
