2014 Lexus ES 300h Overview
The Lexus ES sedan was redesigned for 2013 and was joined by a hybrid version: the ES 300h. The ES 300 competes with the Acura TL, Hyundai Azera and Lincoln MKZ.
New for 2014
The available high-intensity-discharge headlights are now accompanied by LED fog lights. The ES 300 gains the choice of Bamboo interior trim like what's offered in the ES 300h hybrid, and both models now offer heated and ventilated seats with the simulated leather upholstery.
The ES now offers Siri Eyes Free Mode for the iPhone 4S and 5, which enables various voice commands through Siri including placing a call, playing music from iTunes, listening to and composing text messages and emails, getting directions, performing a search, listening to notifications and calendar info, and adding reminders and appointments.
The ES 300h features LExu’s signature spindle grille and a subtle trunk lid spoiler. 17-inch alloy wheels come standard with 18-inch wheels available. LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, and fog lights all come standard, as well as a power moon roof. Available power trunk lid optional.
The interior features imitation leather upholstery; real leather available, power front seats, automatic air conditioning, and six-CD stereo with MP3 jack and USB port; premium audio available. Additional options include wood trim, steering wheel, heated steering wheel, power rear sun shade, and navigation system.
Under the Hood
The ES hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack that makes 200 HP total. The ES 300H runs on regular gas with a Continuously variable automatic transmission and comes front-wheel drive.
The Lexus features 10 airbags, antilock brakes, electronic stability system, and emergency communication system with one-year trial subscription standard. Additional features include blind spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, Pre-Collision System, and backup camera.
