2014 Lexus CT 200h Overview
- New grille and front and rear bumpers
- 134 total horsepower
- 43/40 mpg city/highway
The 2014 Lexus CT 200h offers drivers the chance to explore the “darker side of green” with an aggressive design and sportier intent than most Lexus models.
For 2014, the CT 200h gets a host of changes including a revamped front face, interior updates, and new wheel designs. The updates to the front are the most easily spotted, where a large version of Lexus’ spindle grille spill over the revised front bumper, joining with the lower air intake for a bolder overall aesthetic. The rear bumper is also brand new as well. A power moonroof, LED daytime running lights and taillights, and side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators are standard. Those who want even sportier styling can opt for the F Sport version, which also has a tighter suspension.
Under the hood, the 2014 CT 200h employs a hybrid drivetrain that combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine running on the efficient Atkinson cycle and an electric motor which produce a combined 134-hp of output. The front-wheel drive CT 200h also offers four different selectable driving modes: Normal, Eco, EV, and Sport.
Inside, there is a long list of standard features including simulated leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity, USB/iPod port, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and powered front seats. The optional navigation system gets updates for 2014, including a new, thinner screen mounted atop the dash that is controlled via Lexus’ Remote Touch controller at the bottom of the center console. Also available is Lexus’ Enform system which connects to your smart phone and offers a variety of apps, including Bing internet searches, OpenTable restaurant reservations, and Pandora internet radio.
Safety features include the federally mandated antilock brakes, electronic stability system, and front airbags. The CT 200h also offers side-impact and side curtain airbags, as well as front knee airbags for added crash protection. An advanced Pre-Collision system is optional and tightens the front seat belts and primes the brakes for quicker stops when it detects that a collision is coming.
