Land Rover LR3 vs. Infiniti QX56 Review

Handling
The Infiniti QX56 and the LR3 have about comparable tires. With its tighter turning radius, the Land Rover LR3 is definitely more maneuverable than the Infiniti QX56, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Infiniti's engine is quite a bit more sizeable than the Land Rover's. Remember that more massive engines may use more gas than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Infiniti will have picked up and gone by the time the Land Rover LR3 finally gets moving. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the QX56 is significantly more powerful than the Land Rover LR3.

Utility
The Land Rover is likely a better choice than the Infiniti QX56 when it comes to transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of gear or big animals. The Infiniti will definitely prove friendlier than the Land Rover for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The Infiniti QX56 outpulls the Land Rover LR3 by a sizeable margin.

Convenience
The Land Rover's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Infiniti.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Infiniti QX56 offers a bit more head room than the Land Rover LR3, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Infiniti is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the Land Rover LR3.

Dimensions
The Infiniti QX56 is a tad more ponderous than the Land Rover LR3. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Infiniti QX56 than the Land Rover LR3 because of its bigger tank. The Infiniti QX56 rides lower than the Land Rover LR3, which is a good thing for its center of gravity and ease of access. The Land Rover LR3 and the QX56 compete for the same parking spaces. The Land Rover LR3's shorter wheelbase will likely give a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic. On the other hand, the Infiniti is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Land Rover LR3 to the dealership as the QX56. With respect to gas mileage, the LR3 is somewhat better than the Infiniti, but not by much. Regarding MSRP, the QX56 costs substantially more than the Land Rover LR3.

Overview
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Land Rover isn't quite as generous as the Infiniti QX56's.
