Land Rover LR3 vs. GMC Yukon XL 2500 Review

Utility
The Yukon XL 2500 will most certainly prove more convenient than the Land Rover LR3 for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The GMC Yukon XL 2500 is likely a better choice than the Land Rover LR3 as far as transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of stuff or big dogs. The GMC Yukon XL 2500 outpulls the Land Rover LR3 by a massive margin.

Dimensions
The Yukon XL 2500 is significantly heavier than the Land Rover. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the GMC Yukon XL 2500 than the Land Rover LR3 because of its bigger tank. The Land Rover LR3 fits in smaller parking spaces than the GMC Yukon XL 2500. The Land Rover LR3's shorter wheelbase will likely give a nimbler feel in daily traffic. On the flip side, the GMC is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs almost the same to get the Land Rover LR3 to the dealership as the Yukon XL 2500. The GMC Yukon XL 2500 isn't much pricier than the Land Rover with respect to MSRP.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Land Rover LR3 is quite certainly more maneuverable than the Yukon XL 2500, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Land Rover LR3's engine is substantially smaller than the GMC Yukon XL 2500's. Keep in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; on the other hand, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. The Land Rover LR3 could learn a lesson or two from the GMC Yukon XL 2500 in terms of pickup. Torque equals pickup, and the GMC Yukon XL 2500 will have picked up and gone by the time the Land Rover finally gets moving.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the LR3 offers a bit more head room than the GMC Yukon XL 2500, there really isn't much of a difference. While the rear of the Land Rover LR3 provides a bit more head- and leg-room than the Yukon XL 2500, there really isn't much of a difference.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the GMC Yukon XL 2500 isn't quite as generous as the Land Rover LR3's.
