With that kind of horsepower, both the Land Rover LR3 and the Expedition EL are genuine speedsters.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Land Rover LR3 is definitely nimbler than the Ford Expedition EL, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Ford Expedition EL has a bigger engine than the Land Rover LR3. Keep in mind that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder. Torque equals pickup, and the Ford Expedition EL will have picked up and gone by the time the LR3 finally gets moving.

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Ford Expedition EL over the Land Rover LR3. The Ford Expedition EL is a better choice than the Land Rover in terms of hauling capacity, especially if you often need to carry a lot of gear or massive dogs.
