2012 Land Rover LR2 Overview
Incorporating a unique blend of style, luxury, and rugged utility, the 2012 Land Rover LR2 will go virtually anywhere and ensures you’re comfortable while doing it.
Under the hood lies a 230-horsepower, 3.2-liter inline-six-cylinder engine that generates 234 pounds-feet of torque and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Full time intelligent all-wheel drive distributes almost all of the power to the front or rear wheels, while CommandShift allows the driver to make manual sequential changes and even shift into Sport mode for more nimble handling. Land Rover’s Terrain Response technology offers settings for a variety of conditions including: grass, gravel, mud, ruts, sand, snow, and tarmac (pavement). Off-road enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that the LR2 has 8.3 inches of ground clearance and a 31-degree approach angle, which should be good enough to climb up and over anything that stands in the way.
The 2012 LR2 has three trim levels to choose from: base, HSE, and HSE LUX. A two-piece panoramic sunroof, 18- or 19-inch spoke alloy wheels, Adaptive Xenon projector headlights and memory settings for the exterior mirrors are available.
Inside, the LR2 seats up to five passengers and also offers up to 59 cubic feet of storage space with the folding 60/40-split rear seats. As the driver, you need to see everything in your path, which is why the LR2 elevates the driver’s seat with its Command Driving Position feature. A 13-speaker Alpine Dolby Pro Logic 7.1 surround sound system with an auxiliary input jack, eight-way power driver and six-way passenger seat, automatic climate control with air filtration, and leather upholstery are just some of the amazing interior features.
Side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes and an electronic stability system with Roll Stability Control all come standard in the 2012 Land Rover LR2.
Whether you’re navigating through the urban jungle or a real one, the 2012 Land Rover LR2 can get the job done.
