2009 Kia Spectra5 Overview
If things like excellent fuel economy, sporty design, abundant standard features and top-notch cargo space, then the 2009 Kia Spectra5 is the hatchback for you.

The Spectra5 is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Elantra, but boasts its own unique look. The Spectra5 is powered exclusively by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing that makes 138- horsepower for decent acceleration. A five-speed manual transmission comes standard and offers crisp shifting and decent feel. The optional 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is good for cruising at highway speeds. That fuel sipping engine allows for 23-24 MPG in the city and 30-32 MPG on the highway. When it comes to fuel economy, the Spectra measures up favorably against the Toyota Matrix and Mazda3 hatchback.

A standard sport-tuned suspension and strut-tower bar make for crisper handling. Unique hatchback styling, aggressive front and rear fascias, 16-inch alloy wheels and tires, and a rear spoiler create a bold look. Metal finish trim and medal foot pedals are also available on SX models for additional sportiness. An AM/FM/CD audio system with six speakers, auxiliary input jack, tilt steering column and 6-way adjustable driver’s seat are great standard features on all trims. If those aren’t enticing enough, a 6-disc CD changer, leather-wrapped steering knob and power sunroof are available. The Spectra5 seats up to five people and the 60/40 split folding rear seat offers enhanced cargo flexibility allowing 52.8 cubic feet of cargo space. If you’re worried about the Spectra’s durability, a 10-year/100,000-mile limited warranty is available.

Helping to achieve a 5-star front crash test rating is an optional 4-wheel anti-lock braking system providing superior stopping power and reduced wheel lockup during hard braking. The Spectra received a 5-star frontal crash safety rating from the NHTSA and is loaded with six standard airbags including: dual front airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags protecting front and rear passengers in a collision. A standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts the driver to any drops in tire pressure with a warning on the instrument panel.

Renew your passion for driving, while spending less at the pump with the 2009 Kia Spectra5.
