2010 Kia Soul Overview

Breaking away from the shackles of uniformity, the all-new 2010 Kia Soul offers a brand-new style, affordable pricing and a plethora of appealing features and accessories.

Somewhere between the Mini Cooper and Scion xB, the Kia Soul brings a rounded front fascia and a box-like body that is sure to carve out a niche for those looking for something new and exciting. The Soul is available in four trims—base, Soul+, Soul! and Sport. Under the hood, the 1.6-liter, 122-horsepower four-cylinder engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and has adequate pep. The 2.0-liter, 142-horsepower four-cylinder engine is mated to the standard five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic transmission.  The Soul receives and estimated 24-26 mpg in the city and 30-31 mpg on the highway and competes with the Honda Element and Scion xB.

If you thought that the exterior was flashy and fun, you’ll be in for a treat once you climb into the Soul. With seating for five, the Soul has a 60/40 folding rear seat, an optional moonroof and three unique interior colors to choose from. Optional SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Bluetooth connectivity and USB/Auxiliary MP3 input jacks with available steering wheel-mounted audio controls keep you connected to your music and friends. Speaking of music, a state of the art sound system can blast up to 315 watts of Soul power through a six speakers and a subwoofer. 15-inch alloy wheels come standard, while 16- and 18-inch alloy wheels are optional. One aspect of the Soul that promotes creativity and individuality are the many stylish accessories. From a roof kayak attachment, front and rear spoiler, auto-dimming mirror to designer shift knobs, the Soul has a little bit of everything one could want. Kia’s 10-year/100,000-mile warranty gives you peace of mind and is still one of the best warranties in the business.

When it comes to safety, the Soul has you covered. Antilock brakes, six airbags, electronic stability system, tire pressure monitoring system, impact-absorbing steering column and active head restraints for the front seats all come standard.
