Offering great value, rugged styling, and class-leading performance, the 2008 Kia Sorento features upgraded engine power and towing capacity this year.

Available in two trim levels – LX and EX – the Sorento has two powerful V6 engines available. The new 3.3 liter V6 provides 242 horsepower and 3,500 lb. towing capacity, which should suit most people’s power and towing needs. The uplevel 3.8 liter V6 puts horsepower at 262, which injects very quick acceleration. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic® shifting for manual shifting ability at the flick of a wrist. Two available four-wheel drive systems are available, with an electronic part-time system on LX models, and an automatic full-time Torque-On-Demand® system with low range on EX models.

Safety features include standard 4-wheel anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution to minimize wheel lockup and increase stopping power. A comprehensive restraint system includes standard dual front advanced airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, a driver’s knee airbags, and front active headrests protect passengers in both rows in a collision. Electronic Stability Control with the Traction Control System helps to maximize vehicle control in emergency maneuvers and limit wheelspin during acceleration. The standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts the driver to any significant drops in tire pressure.

The Sport Package on LX models includes 17” alloy wheels and tires and a rear spoiler for added style, side-step bars for easier entry, fog lights for enhanced nighttime visibility, and black leather seat trim. Four standard 12-volt power points can accommodate a variety of power tools or external appliances for your next road trip. An optional Delphi premium CD/MP3 stereo with 10 speakers and amplifier supplies excellent sound quality. A standard 60/40 split folding rear seat creates abundant cargo space, while the available 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat makes the drive more comfortable.
