New 2010 Kia Forte Koup

Now you can drive in style at an affordable price, thanks to the all-new 2010 Kia Forte Koup, which was first introduced as a concept at the 2008 New York auto show.

Sporting a chiseled, athletic exterior design and modern interior features, the new Kia Forte sedan replaces the Spectra and its offshoot the Forte Koup marks its 2010 debut as the manufacturer’s first-ever two-door coupe. Facing tough competition in the compact car segment including perennial favorites Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Ford Focus, the 2010 Kia Forte Koup is 2.4 inches lower, 2.0 inches shorter and 0.4 inches narrower than its sedan sibling, but with the same 104.3-inch wheelbase.

Available in EX and SX trim levels, the five-passenger 2010 Forte Koup is equipped with either a 156-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder or the slightly more powerful 173-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Transmission choices are abound and include a four-speed automatic, five-speed automatic with auto-manual mode, five-speed manual and six-speed manual. The 2010 Kia Forte Koup excels in efficiency with EPA estimated fuel economy ratings ranging between 22-25 mpg in the city and 31-34 mpg on the highway.

The EX sits atop 16-inch alloy wheels and the SX is perched on 17-inch alloys. The more performance-oriented SX gets larger brakes and a sport-tuned suspension. A USB port, Bluetooth cell phone connectivity with steering wheel-mounted controls, six-speaker CD/MP3 stereo system with Sirius Satellite Radio and power heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signals are standard features. Leather upholstery and heated seats can be had as options. Trunk volume measures 12.6 cubic feet and 60/40-split folding rear seats extend the available amount of cargo space. A Fuel Economy Package adds electric power steering, low-rolling-resistance tires and aerodynamic enhancements.

The 2010 Kia Forte Koup offers a host of standard safety technologies, including all-disc antilock brakes, side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags, an electronic stability system, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, a traction control system, tire pressure monitoring system and active head restraints for the front seats.
