2014 Kia Forte Koup Exterior

2014 Kia Forte Koup Overview

  • Redesigned for 2014
  • Standard backup camera
  • Two new engines
Completely redesigned for 2014, the Kia Forte Koup is a sporty two-door option that has the style, standard features, and performance to compete in the crowded compact segment.

Changes for 2014 are numerous and start with the Forte Koup’s exterior, which has been updated to match the rest of Kia’s cars. Up front is a slimmer version of the familiar pinched grille, and the overall appearance has been smoothed to make the Koup sleeker. Changes also include 2 added inches to the wheelbase as well as added height and width which makes the cabin roomier. Power-folding side mirrors are standard.

There are also big changes under the hood, where the Forte Koup gets two new engines. EX models get the base engine, a 173-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder that is mated to a six-speed automatic. The sporty SX gets a more powerful 201-hp, turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder that makes 195 pounds-feet of torque and is available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The SX also gets larger front brakes for added stopping power.

Inside, Kia has added interior volume and standard features, as well as upgrading materials. The backseat has two extra inches of legroom and added headroom as well, good news for passengers. Leather now comes standard on the steering wheel and shift knob, with leather upholstery optional on both trims. Standard features include Kia’s UVO infotainment system with voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, power windows and locks, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. There are also plenty of tech/luxury features available, including navigation, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate controls, heated front seats, and a cooled driver’s seat.

Also added for 2014 is a standard backup camera, which joins six airbags, antilock brakes, and an electronic stability system with traction control on the standard safety features list.
