2012 Kia Forte Koup Overview

Featuring impressive fuel-economy and a sporty appearance, the 2012 Kia Forte Koup is a quality entrant in the compact-coupe segment.

The coupe version of the Forte sedan, the 2012 Forte Koup is available in two trims, EX and SX, and for 2012 the EX adds a telescoping steering wheel. Powering the little car that could is a 156-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder (EX) and a 173-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder (SX). Both engines send power through the front wheels and can be mated to a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission. The SX features a sport-tuned suspension for those who wish to race to work. Fuel efficiency estimates range between 22-25 mpg in the city and 31-34 mpg on the highway. The EcoMinder fuel-efficiency monitor helps you to maximize your fuel consumption by displaying real-time fuel efficiency diagnostics.

Competition to the 2012 Kia Forte Koup includes some esteemed company: the Ford Focus, Honda Civic, and Hyundai Elantra. A bold black air dam sits low and combines with the grille to provide a aggressive, sporty look. Standard equipment (EX) includes 16-inch wheels, dual body-color door handles, heated power mirrors with integrated turn signals, and tinted glass. The SX rests on 17-inch wheels and has automatic headlights, front fog lights, LED rear taillights, and Gloss Black front fascia accents. A power sunroof and chrome door handles are optional on both trims.

Inside, the 2012 Kia Forte Coupe seats five occupants and offers 12.6 cubic feet of cargo space when the 60/40-split folding rear seat is stowed. Cloth sport seats, six-way adjustable driver’s seat, six-speaker audio system, USB and auxiliary input jack, Bluetooth® connectivity, remote keyless entry, cruise control with steering wheel-mounted controls, and outside temperature display are all standard equipment. Take it up a notch with optional equipment like a navigation system with SiriusXM Traffic, push button start, auto-dimming rear view mirror, paddle shifters, automatic temperature control, leather seat trim, heated front seats, and metal pedals.

Stay safe in the 2012 Kia Forte Koup with side-impact airbags for the front seats, dual front airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, antilock brakes, active head restraints traction control, a backup camera and an electronic stability system.

With nice mpg ratings, a sleek look, and plenty of driver engagement, the 2012 Kia Forte Koup lets you go green in style and have fun in the process.
