Business Analytics Intern (Part Time) - Santa Monica - Cars.com

Description/Duties

We are an independent online marketing and tech division of Cars.com, a leader in the online automotive space. We're looking for an undergraduate/graduate student who is interested in working part time out of our Santa Monica office. This position will work with our Manager of Analytics and Operations to analyze key business metrics.

Location of Santa Monica Office (Google Maps)

Responsibilities

• Manage weekly and monthly reporting using Excel and our admin site
• Perform ad hoc analysis to support sales and internal departments
• Support Manager of Analytics and Operations on performing optimization analysis
• Identify trends in internal data to make actionable recommendations
• Work with senior management team to determine analytics needs and constraints
• Solve problems and resolve challenges independently

Core Requirements and Qualifications

• Strong understanding and experience using Excel; relevant work experience a plus
• Experience with creating powerpoint presentations
• Ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment while adhering to deadlines
• Keen interest in online marketing
• Quick learner
• Self-starter attitude; comfortable with working independently
• Attention to detail and follow through
• Currently working on undergraduate or graduate degree relating to business, economics, mathematics or other related degree
• Dependability a must!

Big Pluses:

• Understanding of search engine marketing
• Previous automotive Web experience
• Experience with analytics with an online company
• Experience with Visual Basic
• Experience with Access
