Launched in June 1998, Cars.com is a division of Classified Ventures, LLC. Other divisions of Classified Ventures include Apartments.com, the Homescape real estate site and Homegain.com. Classified Ventures, LLC is owned by five leading media companies: Belo Corp., Gannett Co. Inc., The McClatchy Co., Tribune Co. and The Washington Post Co.

Cars.com Santa Monica manages the NewCars.com web site. We are focused on helping new car buyers select the new car that is right for them and learn how to get a great deal. As a smaller "company within a company," we are able to experiment with new technologies and new user interface designs. We have also developed our own proprietary search engine marketing (SEM) bidding tools that help us to maximize our profits through search.

We celebrate diversity - out of about 30 employees, we represent 14 different home countries ranging from Argentina to Germany, Italy and Russia.
