2009 Jeep Wrangler Overview
Jeep’s iconic off-road machine received a complete redesign last year, and the 2009 Jeep Wrangler returns with legendary open-air thrills and rugged driving dynamics that are second-to-none. A 2-door Wrangler and 4-door Wrangler Unlimited are available in three trim levels – X, Sahara, and Rubicon. All models feature a durable 3.8-liter, 202-horsepoer V-6 engine making enough low-end torque to tackle steep grades. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic, it handles rough terrain with ease. The Wrangler receives 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway and competes with the Nissan Xterra and Toyota FJ Cruiser. A Command-Trac® shift-on-the-fly 4WD system is standard on Wrangler and optional on Wrangler Unlimited. Combined with front and rear stabilizer bars, fuel tank and transfer case skid plate shields, and two optional performance suspensions, it’s ready for any situation you can throw at it. A variety of 16- and 17-inch cast aluminum wheels and off-road tires provide style and substance. The Wrangler is not just a one-dimensional off-roader. It’s loaded with standard amenities for urban adventures as well, including standard air conditioning, available power locks and windows. The Wrangler boasts the incredibly versatile UConnect® system that can fulfill your digital dreams through a 6.5-inch touch screen. Turn your car into a Wi-Fi hotspot and connect laptops, phones, PSPs, PDAs and play online games, surf the internet and download music. The 30 GB hard drive lets you upload and store up to 6,700 songs, tons of photos and play your iPod/MP3 player through the sound system. Include SIRIUS® Satellite Radio, turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity and you’ve just turned your car into the ultimate entertainment center. The 368-watt Infinity® Sound System is as powerful on the inside as the Wrangler is under the hood. A variety of grilles, fender flares, and unique badges help to differentiate trim lines, while Sahara and Rubicon models feature stain and odor resistant seat fabric to handle the dirtiest jobs. Standard safety features are generous. Advanced multistage dual front airbags protect the driver and front passenger. 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic stability control and Hill Start Assist come standard. The 2009 Jeep Wrangler combines modern technology and amenities, yet still manages to retain its world-class off-road capability and rugged exterior style.
