2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Overview
To complement the unlimited head and shoulder room of the Jeep Wrangler, the world’s most capable off-road brand has created something which further stretches the limits of the off-roader’s favorite vehicle. The 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited takes the best four-wheeler to new heights with its stretched frame. Under that iconic Jeep hood, which in itself represents 70 years of rock-climbing glory, is a 202-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6, which is mated to a four-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. This pairing is good for 16 mpg in the city and 19-20 on the highway. Fuel economy is comparable with the Ford Explorer. Your Wrangler Unlimited is offered in three models: Sport, Rubicon (named for the famed off-road trail where Wranglers can go but most others fail) and Sahara. With all the open space on top of the Wrangler it is hard to fully separate the inside from the outside. Headroom is infinite with the easy-to-remove Sunrider® top off, and so is shoulder room with the windows down. Think the Nissan Xterra and Toyota FJ Cruiser can compete with that? The four-wheel drive system on the Sport and Sahara models features a low-high transfer case, Dana front and rear solid axles and an available limited slip rear differential. On the Rubicon there are electric front- and rear-axle lockers, an electronic sway bar disconnect feature (for added wheel travel) and a standard-equipment limited slip rear differential. Fog lamps and tow hooks are standard, while tube-style running boards are available. Fun goodies such as a CD player, an upgrade Infinity audio system and Sirius Satellite Radio can be added for your cruising pleasure. New two-tone leather is available on Sahara and Rubicon models. The available Uconnect system enhances the Wrangler’s technology offerings with a hard drive to store and play music on, as well as connecting your phone (now included with Uconnect navigation) and wireless electronics for Wi-Fi internet surfing. Wrangler Unlimited safety offerings include four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control and stability control. Dual front and optional front-side airbags help the Wrangler achieve Five-Star front impact ratings in government testing. When you want the most off-road capable vehicle on the planet, and you want to be able to take three or four passengers and 46 cubic feet of camping gear with you, the only choice is the 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
