Jeep Overview:
When it comes to off-roading, nobody does it better than Jeep. For 2010, Jeep soldiers on as America’s original SUV make. After receiving re-tuned brakes and suspension in 2009, the compact Liberty SUV receives a system that shuts off the engine when decelerating to improve fuel efficiency in 2010. The Liberty also features an available Sky SliderTM panoramic roof and can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

For open air off-roading fun, nothing beats the compact and affordable Jeep Wrangler and 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Both come in three different trim levels.  The base “X” is now the “Sport,” which boasts standard fog lamps, tow hooks, compass and outdoor temperature gauge on both the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited.  The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited now come equipped with a more manageable soft-top and an indicator that shows when you’re driving economically.

Entry-level buyers can experience off-road thrills with the affordable compact Compass crossover SUV. Both the Compass and boxier Patriot SUV remain relatively unchanged from ’09 and receive up to 29 mpg on the highway.

The full-size 2010 Commander SUV has three rows of seats and receives a redesigned 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, available iPod interface and leather-appointed package. The Commander also boasts a rock-solid suspension and 4WD capability, which is sure to delight off-roaders everywhere.  The Commander’s 4.7-liter V-8 engine and Overland trim have been discontinued.

Drivers looking for a little more luxury and refinement will be happy to slide into the seat of the sophisticated 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which offers a variety of trim levels that feature a wide selection of both gasoline and fuel-efficient diesel engines. The Grand Cherokee features only three trim levels—Laredo, Limited and SRT8 after dropping the Overland trim.
