2011 Jeep Compass Overview
With new interior and exterior styling, the revised 2011 Jeep Compass is leading the crossover segment in a new, exciting direction.
Not to be confused with a rugged SUV-based crossover, the car-based 2011 Jeep Compass receives impressive front-end styling as well as an interior refresh. Engine options include a 158-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline-four and a 172-horsepower, 2.4-liter inline-four. Both can be paired to either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission. The Compass still retains some of its off-road pedigree, with three drivelines that range from street driving to off-roading ruggedness. Choose between front-wheel drive, Freedom Drive I four-wheel drive with lock mode, and Freedom Drive II Off-Road Package which is a Trail-Rated four-wheel-drive system. The Freedom Drive II drivetrain incorporates a low range CVT for off-road driving. When properly equipped, the Compass boasts a maximum towing capacity of 2,000-pounds.
Because the 2011 Jeep Compass utilizes four-cylinder power, it achieves excellent fuel economy ratings to the tune of 21-23 mpg in the city and 26-29 mpg on the highway. Competition includes the Nissan Rogue and Honda CR-V. A new seven-slot grille, restyled front and rear bumpers, and new headlights and taillights bring the Compass into the next generation of styling, looking similar to the redesigned Grand Cherokee. The Compass rests on 17-inch aluminum wheels and features standard fog lights, LED taillights, and roof rails, while a power sunroof, 18-inch rims, and a chrome exhaust tip are optional. The Freedom Drive II Off-Road Package also features 17-inch all-terrain tires, a full-size spare, skid plates, tow hooks, and a one-inch-higher ride height to help clear obstacles you may encounter.
Inside the 2011 Jeep Compass, you’ll notice a new steering wheel, new cloth upholstery, backlit switches, and new trim on the front doors with padded upper sills. Air conditioning, heated side mirrors, an audio jack, USB port and Uconnect Voice Command, and cruise control all come standard. Available options include heated front seats, a navigation system with Sirius Travel Link, and a premium audio system with Boston Acoustics speakers. The Compass seats up to five occupants and features 60.7 cubic feet of cargo volume when the rear seats are folded.
As for safety, the 2011 Jeep Compass features hill start assist, side curtain airbags, an electronic stability system, traction control, electronic roll mitigation, and antilock brakes. Seat-mounted side-impact airbags fro the front seats are optional.
With a new look and upgraded interior, the sleek and bold 2011 Jeep Compass lets you ride far off into the sunset without spending an arm and a leg at the pump.
