2012 Jaguar XJ Overview (See Available Styles)

Classic Jaguar refinement couples with modern appointments and technology to form the 2012 Jaguar XJ full-size luxury sedan.

The 2012 XJ is just one of the fine horses in Jaguar’s prestigious stable and is available in several trims: base XJ, extended-length XJL, Supercharged, and Supersport. The only significant changes to the 2012 XJ are to the Supersport, which receives a Rear Seat Comfort Package that features heated, ventilated, massaging, and reclining seats. Competition in the full-size luxury sedan segment includes the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and Lexus LS 460.

When it comes to power, the Jaguar XJ is not your average stuffy luxury sedan. Under the hood lies a standard 385-horsepower, direct-injection 5.0-liter V-8 that is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. If you feel the need for speed, the Supercharged model is the beneficiary of a 470-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8, surpassed only by the 510-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 found in the Supersport. A standard air-spring suspension, that varies firmness depending on the conditions, ensures a smooth and composed ride. For those who regularly navigate through snowy terrain, Winter Mode in JaguarDrive Control works with Dynamic Stability Control to keep the XJ from slipping and skidding. Fuel economy ratings are 15-16 mpg in the city and 21-23 on the highway.

The 2012 Jaguar XJ has a very sleek look to it, with LED taillights, a power-opening trunk lid, panoramic glass roof, rear spoiler, adaptive headlights, and 19-inch wheels. Once you step inside the XJ, you will be impressed by the piano-black and chrome surfaces, and the dashboard and steer wheel are adorned in leather. The aforementioned JaguarDrive gear selector pops up from the center console once the engine is turned on. Virtual gauges are displayed in classic analog fashion on a 12.3-linch screen. A premium 1200-watt Bowers & Wilkins surround-sound system and eight-inch touch-screen that displays vehicle functions ranging from audio and video to navigation and climate control surround you with top-notch technology.

Keeping you and yours safe is a priority so the 2012 Jaguar XJ is equipped with antilock brakes, front and rear parking sensors, a backup camera, electronic stability system, blind spot warning system, and a full suite of airbags.

Turn heads with the powerful 2012 Jaguar XJ luxury sedan.
