2011 Jaguar XF Overview
By fusing old-school luxury with present-day technology, power and style, the 2011 Jaguar XF is as good as it gets.
The 2011 Jaguar XF shows off its many layers of luxury and power between the Luxury, Premium, Portfolio (super luxury) and XFR trims. The XF features three powerful engines: a standard 300-horsepower, 4.2-liter V-8, an optional 385-horsepower, 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V-8, and a 510-horsepower, 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 (available in the XFR). A six-speed automatic transmission has a fully adaptive shift system that optimizes performance and economy, and continually adapts to suit your driving style.
The XF receives 15-16 mpg in the city and 21-25 mpg on the highway and competes with the Audi A6, Cadillac STS, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Lexus GS. Adaptive Dynamics, a computer-controlled variable dampening system, and Active Differential Control are featured on the XFR and work together to optimize traction under hard acceleration and cornering.
Turning heads is standard with the 2011 Jaguar XF’s sculpted hood and prominent aluminum trim that surrounds the side windows. High-mounted LED taillights resemble that of an Aston Martin. The XFR comes with exterior features such as quad-exhaust tailpipes, 20-inch wheels, large chrome-rimmed lower-bumper vents, cooling vents, and a trunk lid spoiler as standard equipment.
Although Jaguar is a classic brand, the 2011 XF incorporates many modern touches. The JaguarDrive Selector knob rises out of the console and closed HVAC vents rotate to the open position when the engine is turned on. Multi-way adjustable power seats are standard on all XF models with the option of actively ventilated heated and cooled seats, as well as a heated steering wheel. The XF also offers an optional Bowers & Wilkins 440-watt sound system with Dolby ProLogic II surround sound and MP3-compatible Portable Audio Interface with an in-dash LCD touch-screen. Digital and SIRIUS Satellite Radio have also been added with HD radio as an option. A sunroof is standard in all models, while the XFR boasts Ivory or charcoal soft-grain leather interior.
Safety is no joke with the 2011 Jaguar XF. An optional radar-based blind spot warning system alerts the driver when the XF ventures into an occupied lane. A rear view camera provides a clear picture of the area behind the car and is also optional. Emergency Brake Assist is standard on the XF and Adaptive Cruise Control is available as an option on all 5.0-liter models. Standard dual-stage front airbags, front-seat side-impact airbags, and side curtain airbags for front and rear seats are standard.
Classic refinement blends with modern technology and style in the powerful, yet graceful 2011 Jaguar XF.
