2014 Infiniti QX70 Overview
This five-seat luxury crossover previously was called the FX37 and FX50 to denote the engine sizes, but now both are lumped under the new QX70 banner. Infiniti has renamed its entire lineup; all SUVs now have a QX prefix, and the number that follows denotes the vehicle’s rank by size and price.
New for 2014
In addition to changing the name, Infiniti has dropped the Limited Edition model with the V-6 engine. The new lineup has a base QX70 3.7 with rear-wheel drive and QX70 3.7 AWD and 5.0 AWD models with all-wheel drive.
The QX70 features bi-xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights, powerlift gate, and standard 18-inch alloy wheels; available 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels. Furthermore V-8 models include an adaptive suspension that reacts to road conditions & Rear Active Steer which enhances turning precision.
The interior features reclining rear seats, Bluetooth connectivity, dual-zone climate control, USB input for MP3 players, and heated front seats. Available options include ventilated front seats and Bose Stereo system.
Under the Hood
The Infiniti QX70 is powered by a 325-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 engine, with a 390-hp, 5.0-liter in the V-8 models, both in seven-speed automatic transmission. Rear- or all-wheel drive available as the V6 carries a 2,000-pound towing capacity, and the V8 boasting a 3,500-pound towing capacity.
Antilock brakes, electronic stability system, side curtain airbags, side-impact airbags for the front seats, and active front head restraints all come as standard safety features. Additional options include Around View Monitor camera system, lane departure prevention system, adaptive cruise control, and forward warning system that apply brakes.
